Is this normal for this year the FG to look heavy like that I suspect its dd or gas/air bubble

When you find something that looks thick, it is always a good idea to compare to another coin of the same year....sometimes the devices look thicker on certain years,that's all. Also a 1973 would not be plated, plating was only done starting in 1982.

As Maineman said compare to another coin of the same year and MM and as close to the same condition. Your coin is normal for that year.
