1985 LMC Extra Thickness?

I've been looking at this cent for a while and comparing it to other 1985s it seems to have thicker lettering. There is one DDR for this date, but it doesn't match up. Am I imagining things?

Unfortunately, these are the best pictures I could manage without a stand.

the reverse is an earlier die state than the obverse. It looks like it has been polished once so far. The die is still fresh with the devices un worn. Nice find.
