I started buying Canadian silver coins from ebay a few weeks ago and have had reasonable luck so far. Well, today I bid on a bunch of quarters and dimes from the same person...got the first bid in in most cases. Today all the quarters were up, and I won every one of the auctions. This is the first time this has happened. I bid on five sets of dimes (of ten each) coming up tomorrow and I'm concerned I might win all those too. I'm got the quarters for melt value (about $5 each). again, no competition which is really strange. I'm posting one of auctions for feedback as to why I'm winning so easily?

I must be missing something.

to the CCF.

Your link leads to a multitude of auctions ... can't tell which one in particular you are asking about.

Authentic silver below melt is always good ...

Starting bid near melt + C $0.625 shipping each quarter + lower demand items + Saturday end.
I wouldn't be surprised though if you're on the hook for at least some, if not all tomorrow.
Hope you're not though since it seems you'd prefer that not happen.

I was concerned if this seller is actually legit. Just seemed odd I was winning every auction that I bid on. Now, I'm worried about how they'd be shipped (singularly, as I paid, or in one envelope). I worry too much.

with shipping you're paying 20 x face, a little high as silver has been fairly flat for a while, should be able to buy from a bullion/coin shop for 18.5 - 19 x face, plus if you're bidding on the 'no date ' silver they're worn enough that they will come in light ( hence less than the .06 oz for dimes and .15 for quarters). Not terribly over bullion price but still a little on the high side.

There is not a BUYIN silver like crazy trend going on these days. As many mentioned it has been moving sideways an has a much more STABLE price this year thus far. An nothing stays the same forever. That much I am sure of after 38 years here on earth....

I notice people start to come out of the woodwork to buy silver when it starts to climb up say past 35 an looks like it is on its way to 40 an beyond, via urgency setting in. As the fact remains that VERY few (less the half a percent of the world population I figure is hoarding silver an gold in the dips right now and most of the millions that make up that half of a percent live in China or India) are wise like most of us to keep loading up in the dips....

Okay, thanks. I guess its basically this stuff is real "junk" silver, the dollars I'd been buying and paying much more for on a per gram basis weren't so "junk"y.

Hey, could it also be that this seller has it categorized under the Five Cents category for all the listings? Who's looking for silver under "Five Cents"?

It could also be that the seller as 193 star. Only has sold 13 items or 13 feedback left has seller. alot people will only buy from power-sellers or more experience sellers.

If he has not sent you an invoice already with the shipping charges combined send him a message requesting he combine them.

Already paid by Paypal the stuff I "won" so far. Might do that if I "win" more.

Still a bit high for silver.
Seriously alot of CCF canadian members will sell to you at these prices for non worn items.
Plus you have a few good coin shops near you

Still, contact the seller even if you've paid and ask if he can combine shipping. Not realizing 2 wins were from the same seller, I paid separately and the seller effectively cancelled those payments and sent an invoice with combined shipping, all without my asking. At a minimum, that implies this seller could do the same.

Then just consider the multiple bids and separate payments as ebay lessons learned, and luckily, not particularly expensive lessons. Good luck.

@swrbxxx, I don't think I have any good coin shops never me? Where do I look for CCF members offerings?
