Larena...it's stats time!
Overall $100 polymers in Australia have been printed in
1996, 1998, 1999, 2008 & 2010. Not many years & not many print runs. The total amount of notes printed are: 318,697,184
Of those notes printed, according to the RBA, there are 212,340,000 circulating (which is: 66.6%)
I am yet to see 2010 notes ciculating, but I changed $20k of notes the other day to $100 & about 140-150 of those were fresh hot off the press crisp choice uncirculated 2008 $100's. Recently I've found many 2008 last prefixes (EL08's) in exceptional condition (gEF-UNC) considering only 684,800 were printed.
Anyway, back to the point about test notes; from the stats of the Vort report
2.6% of circulating notes = 5,520,840 test notes will still be circulating.
There was a total print of 11,263,968 test notes in 1996.
The most important of these notes are the first & last prefix notes: AN & CS (which have 351,999 of each printed). I found 1 x CS in that bunch I got from the bank, but to get so many notes & for 75% of them to be straight from the RBA & not have a radar in it is annoying, but the CS I guess made up for it.
For the test notes the RBA/NPA printed test notes for a trial of static free substrate.
The prefixes used were
AN-AZ, BN-BZ & CN-CS which is 32 prefixes (per print page, standard NPA print size).
Another person to ask about $100's is Joshtammi, he's been getting rid of some recently & you'll be able to contact him...especially considering you next post is the
250 milestone.
