I have a bunch of Chinese fakes. I need to find a set punch with "copy" or "replica" to punch them so they won't be used to fleece someone. I've only been able to find individual letter punches. Anyone know where I can get one CHEAP ?

Ask a local machine shop to make one up for you.

Ask a Chinese counterfeiter to send you one!

or I found one quickly here [eBayItem]200747313564[/eBayItem]
I am sure you could get one cheaper.
Need-A-Punch:-Copy-Or-Replica

Why do it though? You could just label the 2x2 as Chinese Fake or Copy in ink and never sell them.

Here's a thought, what if somebody punched genuine coins with a copy punch?

Just put them away and forget spending money on them?
Or just use a Torch and melt them.
Or Throw in a lake, river or the ocean.
Use a Felt tip marker on write Fake on them with that.
Solder a clip on the end of them and sell as jewlery.
Drill holes in them.

Or keep them in a reference collection for close study, to aid in the idetification of fakes.

As long as they are marked with a punch: "COPY".

UH, Sel_69l. you missed the point. I'm looking for the punch so I CAN punch them.

$50 is way too much. If I don't find anything cheaper, I was thinking of painting or polishing them and inlaying into a piece of furniture.
Rest in Peace

Just use a cheap electric pencil and scribe the word copy on the coins.

They do sell them in lots of places for scribbing a name on tools.

A punch looks much more professional. Or see if a local jeweler or engraver will give you a bulk rate.

Also tried to just get four letter punches C-O-P-Y and stick them together, but could only find them in complete sets which were also expensive.
I do have a Dremel and can use the engraving bit, but I envision the thing getting away from me and just running a zigzag pattern across the field - C OOPS VVVVVVVVVVVVVVV DRAT . Guess I'll polish up the fakes and make a nice tabletop.

That would still fail HPA compliance.

Most locksmiths have a small stamp "DO NOT COPY" for keys. See if you can get one of these and file off DO NOT.

Look up the following store in your area: "Things Remembered"

They'll engrave ANYTHING, and it's rather cheap. If/when you find one, call them up, explain the situation to the manager, see if they can help you out.
