2001 D Dime Color Question

The dime is the same color on both sides and around the rim. Is this an error or just some weird coloring that was applied?

Environmental exposure, it spent a significant amount of time in contact with soil and might have been a MD find although I have found similar clad coinage on the dirt surface of a playground/baseball field.

Or it could be a fake made with pure Silver.
Or just a really dirty coin. Which is more than likely.
