some cubans my dad brought back for me back in 2010....coins ofcorse ;)

all of these are 1 peso, the 3 fish came in a white case and the other two were just individually sealed in plastic cases.

im going to Cuba in may so that reminded me of the coins, maybe if they have any silver i'll try to pick some up, who knows :P

Don't think that those "fish coins" contain silver, and I am not really fond of colored coins, but these do look interesting. :) Those special 1 peso issues are Cu-Ni or nickel-plated steel pieces. The 10 pesos would usually be silver. Keep in mind that, as a tourist, you will usually deal with the "Convertible Peso" - your Dad will know. ;)

Yes I know about the convertible peso, and that these coins are not silver. I was just saying how maybe if they have any silver ones for sale this time i'd see if it would be worth picking some up, who knows maybe they will sell cheaper than spot ;)

Thanks for looking :)

Because of isolation (by the US) I find it hard to find Cuban coins here which are not overpriced. I see a fair share of pre-Castro ones but almost nothing of the current regime. Definitely not commemoratives.

Here are quite a few: http://www.ma-shops.de/world/maCate...catName=Kuba Some of the modern Cuban commems are a little tacky, others are really nice. Most of these sellers are in Europe though. Ah well, looking does not cost anything ...

Exactly! Look at the price, I think it's overblown for most of them.

That's mighty nice of you, RoyalSilver. Just to make sure we're not breaking any rules here, you can hang around till you reach enough post count and we could possibly do a trade.

No problem! just to make sure, how many posts do I need to trade?

And talk about markup on those coins!! The two that I have from that website are at least 8x the original price
Rest in Peace

, RoyalSilver!

You need 50 posts to buy or respond to trades.

I bought a dealer stock that had a bunch of Cuban silver, pre-Castro, of course.
