Hi -

Does anyone collect the Columbia large head and/or small head varieties of the 1920's and 1930's?
My Krause catalog does not indicate which dates are common vs scarce.

Thanks,
Bill

The only overlap I see in 1924. Prior to that it was large head, after that - small. If you're talking about varieties within a type, I'm not familiar with that at all.

Surely, some dates are harder to find than others.
Rest in Peace

Doesn't std cat list mintages? Not that it matters for gold pieces, because it would take an incredibly rare coin to be worth a premium over gold content.

Sigh!

Seems to be little knowledge about this issue, if one can only be pointed to the Krause Standard Catalogue.

Thanks anyway,
Bill
