For all coin collectors it’s the same question, which books do I need, which catalogs should I buy to sort out my coins.

Here in The Netherlands we have the 2 most wanted catalogs, the Mevius, and the NVMH catalog, both catalogs have listed the dutch coins from the time of end 1700 till date, have pictures from most coins, and some information abouth the coins itself.

For world coins I use the Krause catalogs, got those from 1600 till date, they do (just fine) I can find most coins in it that I have, but sertainly not all!!

The last years I “swapped” a few catalogs, this way now I have spanish, portugese, german, and a few from Belgium, even one from Finland (try to read and speak that language without breaking your tong!!), which made my “library” a little bit bigger as well.

But, maybee, it would be a nice idea to not only trade coins, but also more numismatic related items in the future?, so not only coins, but also books, storage ways ( differend size of coin holders) and other stuff among the coin forums members?

Greetings, Carl

I think this is a wonderful idea! The books and supplies are a very important part of this hobby. There are many books that are not readily available in all countries, and since we have such a diverse membership, I think this could be helpful for everyone.
