What? I dont see what the problem is with that. Looks perfectly fine to me.  seriously, not sure at all. Kind of stupid as a fantasy piece as the Seated is a near unique coin on its own. But it does indeed look like an altered 78.

Wow, 2 examples of the same date in one week. Someone in China has been busy! It does not make sense that someone would alter an 1878 date to 1870. It sounds like a cast example and the counterfeiter picked a bad date. Not the first time that has happened.

Well, at least this fake/altered coin is easy to detect. Nothing worse then a top quality fake.

I dunno. For both, there remains the remote possibility in my mind that they're altered 1879's, especially given the weakness of the zeros on each. For the life of me, though, I wouldn't know why.

Reverse lettering also looks weak to me. IMHO But the biggest stand out is GREEN  bronze  Not too surprising on something dated older than it could be.

very easy to detect, few months ago someone tried to sell me an 1888 CC - obviously we all know a fake!! gotta love it
