I just received this medal and it is a beauty but I am looking to find out information about it ... was wondering if anyone counld help me ... who made it? what metal is made of ? .. is it rare ? ... any info would help thanks :) On the rim it is stamped with the numbers 1000 and 102

The inscription is strange - 150 years Ludwig van Beethoven? He died in 1827, so the piece commemorates the 150th anniversary of his death ... On the side you see his hands, with the text "The Hands of the Great Classic(al Composer) of Music". The 102 will be a serial number. Judging from the "color" of the medal in those photos, I would assume it is brass, but then the "1000" would not make any sense. Sorry, cannot really help much here ...

Possibly number 102 of 1000 issued?
