This might be difficult but hopefully enough detail remains for an ID to be found.

I had thought this coin was barbarous but now I'm not too sure, after a bit of cleaning I think the eagle / bird on the reverse is too realistic and I was wondering if the coin was perhaps late Roman or even something else altogether

The obverse is a goner unfortunately, the reverse seems to have 'PO' and 'OL' on it - as its so small I've tried to pick the details out on the below picture though I seem to have made a mess of its head

The coin is 9mm and 0.65 grams - any advice or pointers welcome.

I can see the eagle, so I agree that it's probably Roman. But beyond that I have no idea who it could be.

The eagle does not look Roman and the letters are too large but I can't ID it to a Greek city either.

I know this is an old post, but I ran across this today and it reminded me of bobbyhelmets' coin.

Some similarities, size & weight, eagle reverse........, but no cigar.

The eagle is very reminiscent of some on coins struck by Perseus of Macedon...but I don't know if he issued such a small AE denomination. Tough one with no obverse to go by...

Good work all!

I still have this grotty little spec of a coin and now a couple of new leads to follow, both are closer than I managed to get last time I searched.

I'll let you know if I find anything over the weekend.
