This might be difficult but hopefully enough detail remains for an ID to be found.
I had thought this coin was barbarous but now I'm not too sure, after a bit of cleaning I think the eagle / bird on the reverse is too realistic and I was wondering if the coin was perhaps late Roman or even something else altogether
The obverse is a goner unfortunately, the reverse seems to have 'PO' and 'OL' on it - as its so small I've tried to pick the details out on the below picture though I seem to have made a mess of its head
The coin is 9mm and 0.65 grams - any advice or pointers welcome.
The eagle is very reminiscent of some on coins struck by Perseus of Macedon...but I don't know if he issued such a small AE denomination. Tough one with no obverse to go by...
