Hey gang -

Havnt been around much , but finally was able to grab alittle something interesting ..

I came across 4 rolls of each of these -

1960-P 4rolls
1960-D 4rolls

1962-P 4rolls
1962-D 4rolls

Questions is since I'm new to collecting Pennies , what would you recommend I keep an eye out for while I search these ? I already got the ones I needed out for my books ... Now I just want to go through them for any other possible keepers and I'm really not sure what to keep an eye open for ..

Is there a reference/website that any of you Penny collectors maybe able to point me towards ? Or maybe a book I could pick up that would break down alot of overlooked dates ect..

Or do any of you know off hand some interesting things with these years that you could share with me ?

My Red Book dosnt have much about these .. But if I remember correctly these years have some RPM's I think , just couldnt pass up the deal when I saw it .. ( got all these rolls for a bit over face value purchased for 10$ from a local yard sale...)

Thanks in Advance for any insight here .. I did find a few real nice ones that I'm currently taking a break from photographing which I will share here once I get them uploaded to my mac ..

Maybe ill find something really cool , either way I will post some photos here of some of the coins in the rolls just for giggles ..

And the Hunt Continues .!

The 1960-P small date would be the big one, and there are a few doubled dies, including large-date-over-small-date doubled dies. There's a bunch of 1960-D RPMs, including some of the best of the whole series.

Hopefully ill be able to come out with one .. **wishful thinking lol** ..

I just need to do a quick search to find out how to tell the difference between lrg/sml dates for this year .. Would be cool to find a Lrg/over/sml double die !!

Going to go grab a bite to eat then get back to the fun .. Been awhile since I've searched through somethings so going to take the rest of the day to do some research and roll hunting .!!

Thanks again captain !! appreciate your time .

Hey John1-

Thanks again for all that info - Been learning alot the past few days looking through these pennies .

i did find a few that were on the "coppercoins.com" website so once I'm able ill snap some photos ... Alot of nice UNC coins in these rolls really happy with'em .. didnt find any small dates for the 1960-P's tho :-( However there was some in the 1960-d but there rather common from what I see .

Fun searching and researching these thats for sure .!!

Thanks again for your time guys .!! Keeping my interest high in this hobby.!! Wouldnt be going still without the help I get from everyone here .!!

Found this in one of the rolls , so I guess the guy already went through them for the "keepers" he needed .

But this looked interesting to me .

its a 1965 penny looks to be UNC ... Just has a strange rim on the obverse .. Any opinions ? ..

See alot of what I think maybe polishing lines ?

Maybe they polished out a clash ? looks to me that you can still slightly see it on the reverse ..

and I also have some other photos of areas I was curious about ..

since I'm new to collecting these years of pennies , anyone see anything like this before ?

im sure its something of the norm , just curious of some opinions :)

Thanks again , I did take some photos of the 60's and 62's .. just have to resize them to post here .

Looks like a LDS (late die state) example but still a keeper.
