My first post! I would like to share this 1949 1 cent error with the group. I just found it with my MD at a local park. how many faults can you see, and what would it be classified as? thanks.

That is a lamination peel, caused by a flaw in the alloy. Small ones in the form of a jagged line or strip are usually fairly common(at least on older US cents) but larger fold-over peels do have some collectibility.

I'm not machinery tech, but I would say that die probably blew up shortly after that strike it has cracks all over it.
Wow! what a medal detector find.
---I would think collectible to some and get a premium, at least it's a keeper.
