Smallcentguy Pillar of the Community Canada 1984 Posts	Posted 04/27/2012 4:21 pm The top one was given out at Shell gas stations in, I think, 1971. This series came after the Shell prime minister medallions. There are 10 for the provinces and two for the then-existent territories. These medals sell on ebay occassionally for maybe $1. The lower medal was struck to commemmorate the 1939 Royal visit. I think it was given to schoolchildren. It is less common but still pretty common. Report this Post to the Staff

chequer Pillar of the Community Canada 4227 Posts	Posted 04/28/2012 10:48 am The top one was issued as part of a set by Shell Gasoline in 1967. There are 13 in the set and they were produced by the Wellings Mint, brass plated base metal. They are common and can be found, as mentioned, around a dollar, although because of the base metal, nice specimans can be tricky to find. Report this Post to the Staff
