I went to the bank today to pick up some quarters for roll hunting and this is what they gave. Not great for roll hunting but pretty cool.

You now have a small monetary problem.

These coins, as you know, were made by the hundreds of millions, and so rolls of these are not scarce, either.
Nevertheless, a roll of unc. States quarters is worth just a little more than the equivalent amount of circulated States quarters.

Are they worth keeping? That depends on whether if their investment performance over the years is less or greater than the inflation rate.
I can't answer that.

So do you bust the rolls open to search them? Probably not. They are most probably all identical to each other, being undisturbed from the Mint. If you do that, by definition, you won't have rolls any more.

So do you just return them to the bank? I'll betcha if they are returned, it is almost certain that the rolls will be broken, sooner or later.

So do you ebay them? Almost certainly not, because the add on expenses would not justify doing so.

ANSWER:
Just put them in a hermetically sealed time capsule for someone elso to dig up. THEN they WILL be worth a fortune to someone else in a hundred years!

I only took a photo of the original seven that I first received. After thinking about I decided to go back into the bank to see if they had anymore. I ended up buying 32 rolls from 9 different states with both P&D mm. I don't know if they are worth enough to hold to or to sell and take the profits to add to my collection but I just couldn't let them sit there for the next guy to find who might not even be a coin collector.

I think this is very awesome.
Just the fact that you got them for face value makes them worth hanging onto. Even if they don't appreciate, you don't lose a dime. If they do, you did good. If they hang out for 100 yrs and your greatgrandkids find them, even better!

This happened to me one time also. I ended up selling most for face since I needed a few bucks. I hung onto a couple I think will be good to have.

Interesting find. I am torn on this one. On one hand I would want to rip them open looking for gems, but on the other hand, the rolls do have a premium value. The problem is, as sel mentioned, the premium is probably not enough to cover the cost of selling them.

Those are not ordinary bank rolls, they were sold directly by the US Mint in P&D roll sets for each state. I believe the P&D roll sets were sold for $32.95 which is a significant premium over face value. Using the Florida rolls as an example, one [eBayItem]190648780564[/eBayItem] recently sold for $30 while another [eBayItem]330692023020[/eBayItem] sold for $35.
