I just woke up and was browsing through Los Angeles craigslist collectibles section. there is a tittle called "liberty 1865 silver one dollar" asking price for it is $800.00 with a picture and a phone number .it's not even a liberty but it has a picture of George Washington . Is this coin a counterfeit ?

I can tell you for sure that it is not a real coin issued by the mint.

Whether it was intended as a counterfeit or not I don't know, but either way it's definitely not worth anywhere near $800.

Its probably a silver fantasy piece in the form of a bullion round. So worth melt, if that's the case.

If it's this, then not real and likely not silver.
Rest in Peace

I thought someone mentioned it in a recent thread about getting Ikes at the bank, also.

FACSIMILE is not an Eye-talium mint.
