Nice clash ..
I know a site "maddieclashes.com" they have all kind of clashed coins that you may like to look over ..
Im sure there is others that is one I know of (i had a nice die clashed dime that they added on there .. I made a post here for it originally .. )
Very cool clash tho .. I'm a sucker for these clashers ..
Congrats. Phil \m/

And the photos I take (u can check out some of my posts)
i use a canon powershot a470 .. it has a "Super macro" feature which allows me to get nice clear up close shots ..
pretty inexpensive also .. for the really close photos I use either a 7.5x loop or a 10x loop along with the digital zoom on the camera .. works like a charm ... just gota work the lights so your not over lighting your coin ...
Best of luck .

For this coin you will not need any better pictures. I use a USB camera that I bought off of ebay used for 35 bucks, its not great but its good enough. New ones from China cost 35 bucks but it takes three years to arrive on your doorstep.

That is an amazingly hammered clash, I do not think I have ever seen one with that strong of a Memorial step transfer.

You know no matter how nice these look they really don't sell for that much I had a 1984 witht he Memorial bars straight across lincolns head making it look like he was in jail and it only sold for about $10.00 maybe its the market IDK.

I agree with biokemist6. Usually the bays show more strongly than the steps when clashed, so it's unusual in addition to being a very strong clash. I guess because die clashes are common as a category that even exceptionally strong examples don't command big prices. Wildly MAD clashes or other weird clashes like crazy 19th century mule clashes do seem to get more interest. When I find a clash I consider "worth keeping" I throw them in a tube. I'm up to almost two tubes of clashed nickels, and I have about a half dozen that I thought were worth putting in a 2x2. This is the best one (note the die damage from a hard foreign object being struck): And I still regret not bidding more aggressively on this one: I've been looking over every Merc I've seen since then looking for one as nice, but it might be a long time before I find another that strong, let alone that grade (MS66FB). I've considered contacting the seller to ask them to contact the buyer to see if they want to flip it for a quick profit, but I don't want to be rude. There's this one at Heritage but a 1921 in MS65FB is out of my price range.
