Well one of my distant relatives game me a gigantic set of Russian 1 Rouble comemorative coins from the 70's, 80's, and 90's and I have been recently looking through them. I've sorted them all out and I found one proof commemorative and one error. The error turend out to be quite common but I still want to show it. Basically, the coin shows the Kremlin with the olympic symbol underneath. Also it is uncirculated. On a second glance at the Kremlin you will notice that there is something interesting going on with the clock on the Kremlin. The clock is ment to go I II III IV V VI VII etc...
But instead this error has the following: I II III VI V VI VII etc....

Soviet-Union-1-Rouble-Olympics-Error

Soviet-Union-1-Rouble-Olympics-Error

Soviet-Union-1-Rouble-Olympics-Error

Tell me what you guys think!

PLEASE MOVE TO OTHER FORUM....

Yea sorry. My magnifying glass isn't the best.
Also, Krause lists this coin at $25. Yay!
Rest in Peace

Does the clock come both ways? Even if it does, it's more a mistake than an error.

Yes it does. I'm pretty sure it had something to do with a tiny amount of dies getting the wrong image and accidentally striking it until it was noticed. Krause confirms this.

It's not that rare as one may think. Krause's value on the coin is actually higher than what I expected it to be unless the coin is in UNC condition.

The coin is in fact UNC.
The whole set of coins that I received are all UNC commems.

I have two of those in my collection (not UNC though), and both have the "error".
I won't be surprised if that "error" (mistake actually) is actually on all 1978 Olympic coins will get a proof of this to check on the next realistic opportunity (which should be around May 20, so probably someone who knows better already replies by then).

Fun fact: one of my longer-term set-assembling projects is a decently-full set of Soviet non-PM proof commemoratives... really long term that is as it is currently only at four.

Yea, I heard that this mistake was made on many of the coins. Although not all of them, it is sorta common.
