Hi everyone! I've been practicing my coin grading by looking at previous posts. I found this quarter the other day, and I was wondering what you all thought it's grade would be.

I put a small red mark above a scratch that didn't show up well on the scan. Also, the scanner made a shadow on the coin, which is why it appears toned. What would you estimate the grade to be by looking at the one side of the coin?
Thanks!

You'll need much better photos than that for grading of mintstate modern coins.Note that the colored area isn't well centered in its bordered area,a real minus for a high grade hopeful, but a plus for error value if it were way out of alignment.

I think it will go MS 63 but you can find a better one than that I bet.

MS 61/62.

the ding on the bison is dead center and rather distracting, same for the scratch on Liz's cheek. if the ding was elsewhere then 63.

i realize all the color splotches are almost always off a bit, with some staining outside the intented area, and it might be "within tollerances" but to me it makes these coins look "below grade"
