I am curios to know what 1922 D this is hopefully the weak D would be nice no D would be the best but I am sure that it is just a regular 1922 D with some really bad die wear.

Tripods are overrated lol .. (personal preference IMHO) just a better cam and proper lighting .. Plus practice .. taking photos of coins is pretty tough at first but the more you do it and tinker around you figure things out .. I use a in-expensive canon powershot a470 .. works like a champ little hand held cam with a super macro feature .. I just set the ISO to 80 and evaluate the white balance .. Best of luck to you on your hunts and searching . looking forward to seeing what else you may find .. Phil Heres a photo with the set up I use just for reference -

It's just a plain, old, average 22D.
