I don't know anything about this coin but I am pretty sure it is fake. Can anyone confirm this for me? Thanks for your assistance ahead of time.

Looks similar to a gift my parents bought me: A 'pirate piece of 8' that was supposed to have been cast from a remake mold based off an original, and containing a small amount of silver from recovered coins from a ship wreck.

I have no proof other than that is what it reminds me of.

Yes, welcome - and unless there are pretty obvious clues, it's difficult to determine if any coin is a "fake" from a photo.
