So I have a 1973 proof set, but the two pence is a bit of a curiosity to me. I'm given to understand that the two pence was minted in bronze at that time. The coin has an odd toning that has me wondering.

Question-About-A-Proof-Twopence-Toning

Is this remotely normal for a two pence coin under any conditions?

The red cardboard which houses the coin causes this toning. Probably some moisture got in.

Thanks. It's some pretty neat toning and I wasn't sure what might have caused it.
