I was told by another forum member to post this in this section. Can anyone help me identify this? I can't find anything online about it.
Thanks

It is a privately manufactured 1 troy ounce silver round. Without a maker's mark, it could be difficult to positively ID what company minted it.

You can try an online search using the information you know off the obverse and reverse of the coin. Maybe search Silver Round Bicentennial Exchange Unit, you might be able to track down the company that Minted this.

spider has the right idea, your best bet would be doing that on google and looking on the images to try and match it.

Nice toning forming on the reverse an that is a odd ball 1 oz. round, never seen it before. It obviously was made in 1776 with thoughts of the 200 year bicentennial in mind....

Most important is says that little phrase I love in....One troy oz. of fine .999 silver....

to the board as well Jacob7z....

Welcome!, and if your not familiar with rounds and your wondering about value. Its value is more than likely going to be right arround spot. (About $30 at the moment)

, Jacob. The silver round was minted in the early to mid '70's. It looks well handled but other than that, it's certainly good silver, and some of them clean up better than one would imagine. The people who minted these didn't make a whole lot of them, so it wouldn't surprise me if it were to sell at a premium on ebay. There is actually a small, but active core of collectors who specialize in rare silver, whether ancient or modern. I have a few examples myself, I think. But not this one. The raised lettering and art actually demonstrates some fine, competent, silver smithing.
Rest in Peace

well jacob no matter what it will go for right around spot of silver at least, and then only possibly up if collectors see it worth it. So right now around $30 and like I said just depends on the interest of the bidders after that!
