Today I was told that the1955 DDO was initially discovered in East Masschussette. The whole shippment of one die (about 20,000) were sent to East MA. A couple weeks ago a bank manager told me that he found a 1955-DDO from CWR in the 70's when he was a teller in East MA. So I got a statement and one example to prove it. Any comments from folks here?

Yes, the majority of them were found in New England and the total mintage has been estimated at 20-25,000. Getting one in change was not the only source, cigarette packs from a vending machine were 24 cents at the time and you just chucked in 25 cents and the pack of cigarettes included your one cent change- a number of those cents were 1955 DDOs.
