No pictures yet but estimate seems a bit high no? Can get BU all day long on the bay for less than $8. Opinions?

I am guessing that they are U.S. nickels? At $8 a roll has to be circulated and the rolls in the auction are brilliant uncirculated that's why they are so much. Just think, there could be some real nice errors or varieties or even a high grade in those rolls.

I am assuming you mean $8 BU per coin! $8 a roll for silver nickels would be below melt! There is almost always an added premium for an entire roll of a single date. If even a couple of these coins grade high ( which is unlikely though ) they could be worth significantly more than $8 per coin.

Yes that is what I meant. $8 per coin * 240 = 1920. It is close to the estimate but don't forget buyer's premium, etc. Also, most of the estimates on recent auctions are always low. Anyway, will keep an eye and see what happens. Personally I don't believe any of these "never opened could be something rare inside" claims. Cheers

Goldberg is a very reputable auction house. If they state that they are OBW(original bank wrapped) rolls, then you can take that to the bank. Original rolls from that era are quite uncommon and could very well contain some high grade Full Step coins. However, I would still like to see pics of the rolls though for curiosity's sake.
Rest in Peace

They'd have to average ms64 to make it worthwhile, and who needs 40-80 of the same coin?

Strictly a gambling lot for people with more dollars than sense.

Agree with biggfredd. If you could get 'em a bit cheaper then you could break em up and sell em but I'm not keen on that. Also, they may very well be worth more in the rolls. You break em out and lose collectability I imagine.
