http://www.ebay.com/itm/Shanghai-Vi...em3cb7f8baf8

Issued by "C.G.O.Co.Ltd", the China General Omnibus Co. Ltd, which is a British invested Company. "C.G.O.Co.Ltd" is the first bus company in Shanghai. Its first line opened to public in 1922. "C.G.O.Co.Ltd" issued two set of bus tokens, the 1922 Issue, and the 1939/1940 issue. All of them are quite rare currently.

(1) 2.5 Cents (2 1/2 Cents) token, Brass, 20 mm in diameter, 3.1 gram.

Good Quality, well minted. This is also the first bus token ever issued in China.

This issue was circulated for more than 18 years, until the WWII, the second issued came out.

It should be noted that trade tokens are either for an item or monetary amount, this is a transportation token, good for a fare or a cash amount.
