Nice score! I've found just two as well, after LOTS of roll searching. I am always amazed at how cheap certain coins are to buy, when compared with the effort it takes to find one in the wild. This coin books at like 10 bucks, but I spent way more than that in gasoline going to and from the bank. My 1916-D Lincoln Wheat cent find the other day is already one of my favorites. But it's simply a one dollar coin (on a good day). I found a 1998-W cent recently too... same story. Sorry to drift off topic, but I guess it's all in the fun of the hunt, rather than being a lucrative hobby (roll searching, that is)!

Thanks for sharing bibd. I have one advantage over you, I work for a Bank in Toronto lol so coins come easy for me. I have opened tons and tons of Coins but only nickels and pennies as Dimes and Quarters seem to be all in rought shape with scratches, even the new coins are in tough shape so I hunt the pennies and nickels.

I have noticed error penny coins are going for crazy prices on ebay. Saw a beat up 1985 sharp 5 sell for over 30 bucks. I mean this coin looks like it sat in mud for a couple years.

I've noticed the same, JeyRey. You almost have to score a "hidden" error to get anything decent anymore. A couple of dealers that I used to buy from reasonable (less than $1 for most coins) are now getting $10 and up for the same ones. Good for the seller, all the power to him, but it leaves me out in the cold to score any.

I Willl be heading to the bank this week to pick up a couple boxes to see what I can find. I have a feeling in the next year minor error coins will be hot on the market. 4 more months until the mint starts pulling and melting them down!

Nice! Still looking for my first. I've turned up about 200 '85 pennies in 5 boxes, but all Blunt 5. Could you estimate your found ratio of Blunt to Pointed 5 pennies you find in roll hunting?

I cant exactly tell but I know one thing that I go through 10 rolls of pennies every 2 to 3 days. I dont think there are alot of pointed 5's out there in my opinion but keep looking.

just found my first sharp 5 after going through a box. Keep or auction is the question. Maybe keep until I get two!
