First of all, does anyone know the composition of the new dollars and two dollar pieces?
Second, do those new dollars turn dark easily, like the old ones, as a matter of chemical reactions?

I assume you mean the actual alloy, unfortunately that's confidential information. As for whether they'll turn dark easily like the old ones, that I can tell you, the brass plating will turn dark, like the bronze plating used until 2007 when brass plating also began to be used. Since the outside of the coins will not change, their chemical reaction won't either.
