Im interested in researching and learning about bust halves.
Can you all please suggest some books you consider to be the best on the subject?

Books on varieties (Overton) are fine!

Thanks in advance.

HONDO . . amida has provided 3 great links with a lot of good info. I have "Early Half Dollar Varieties" 4th edition edited by Donald Parsley who is Al Overton's son-in-law. I don't know why the 3rd edition is preferred but I am quite happy with mine. Found it online for $60 shipped but can't remember the source.

There is also The Ultimate Guide to Attributing Bust Half Dollars by Peterson and Bust Half Fever by Edgar Souders. Both of these are out of print and getting difficult to find.

The 3rd edition is better for, among other reasons, the quality of the pictures is far superior.

With the 3rd edition you can use a magnifying glass and enlarge the pictures. The 4th edition only shows you pixels.
