IMHO the coin is probably not authentic as I don't think gold corrodes like your coin. But if it's authentic, it is RIC VII 171: Constantine I, the Great (A.D. 307-337), AV Solidus, 4.49g, Nicomedia, c. A.D. 330-331, diademed head right, gazing upwards, rev. victoria constantini avg, Victory seated right on cuirass and shield, inscribing vot/xxx on shield supported by Genius; in exergue, smn. This is another of this type:

I'm not 100% certain, but I think this design was only struck as a gold solidus. At least I can't seem to find it done in any baser metals.

SMN would be Nicomedia. The last "letter" would indicate the workshop. However, I don't think it would be "C". It could be the Greek letter epsilon, but I'm even uncertain about that. I think I'm correct about your coins authenticity, and I'm very sorry that it's not real. Perhaps I will be proven wrong. One can only hope, eh?

BTW, welcome to CCF and the Ancients forum. If you have other coins your would like to discuss, please post them.

Regards,

I dont like this coin - too many alarm bells are ringing.

Its too round, has a raised edge and is of a rare (ish) type.
