I don't think I am going to be able to have a large set of Morgans, but down the road I really want more than just a single type example. I was thinking a mint-mark set might be a nice compromise. I am soliciting suggestions for what dates would make good representatives of each mint. Ideally I'd like ones that wouldn't be too tough in mint state or close to it, since it's just a five coin set.

Denver obviously only has 1921-D. I was thinking the classic type coin 1881-S would be great for San Francisco because it's common and really nice looking. For New Orleans 1903-O might be interesting because of its history.

I'm at a loss for Carson City and Philadelphia though.

The best struck CC that I own is a MS63 1890-CC tons of luster which from what I've read is fairly typical for that year for Carson City....not really a cheaper coin in MS but I feel it's a good one.

In addition to 5 mints Morgans were minted in 5 different decades. Your choices of the 81-S, 03-O and 21-D cover 3 of the 5 decades. For CC the 82 through 84 are the most reasonable in MS (even possibly consider a GSA CC). That leaves you 78 & 79 for Phila. Just an idea.
