Today, I purchased a set of Walking Liberty halves off of Craigslist for $225.00. This was also the first time I have ever purchased anything off of Craigslist. The set consists of 20 Halves from 1941-1947 all are in F-VF condition. Do you think I made a wise purchase? Thank You, Christopher

Got for just over melt. Good deal in my opinion. I would of even gone up to $275 for F-VF.

I was very nervous about dealing with Craigslist. The seller was extremely nice and appreciated the fact that I wanted these for my collection. I have been on the fence about starting a Walking Liberty half collection for sometime. I decided that ebay and the local dealers were a little too pricy. And thanks to other members who have posted their experiences with Craigslist, I figured I'd give it a try. Thank you again for all the members who posted their craigslist finds, you gave me the confidence I needed to make a good purchase.

Not everyone on craigslist is a creepy guy selling watches out of his coat. I have sold on it several times and only had one bad experience (where the guy didn't show for an appointment)

Sounds like a good deal, especially if the coins are original and uncleaned. Common-date circulated Walkers with cleaning or other problems are strictly bullion pieces but attractive original coins usually fetch some premium over spot from collectors. Please post photos of your purchase when you get it!

Nice deal. Glad to hear it worked out well for you. I'm pretty cautious about buying off of Craig's list now, especially something like that. I've heard too many bad stories to take a risk.

I believe you got a good deal on your Walkers. I have had some unbelieveable good luck buying wheats on Craigs list. You just need to use some common sense and be aware of your surroundings when making a purchase.
Good deal for you.

Quote: You just need to use some common sense and be aware of your surroundings when making a purchase. True. Way to many people are taken in with I'll meet you in a parking lot at ten tonight. And your Walkers are a decent deal.
