Hey guys -

Im kinda unsure which this would fall under-

I picked up two 1891-o morgans , both with the "E" clash this being the heavier (the other I'm thinking maybe a vam-3a with the weak E but havnt gotten to it just yet) ..

Heres some photos so you all can take a peek and see what you may think -

thanks in advance for anyones time and opinions .. *i know its rough , but bought them both for alil over silver spot*

Tatt, I too love a good clashed transferred letter Morgan, This IMO, Is the most common of the "E" clashed coins, (1891-0 ), It was my first and "once bitten, you have to see the rest".

I wish you well, NOT all collectors are into clashed coins, do you collect these only? What else do you favor? Be Well, Mike...... Thanks for sharing. :)

Ohh yea I know its rather common lol-

Just was curious which listing it fell into really .. Since the Vam1 is broken down , I wasnt positive which it would be :-)

Im a fan of any clashed coin , just started collecting the Morgan clashed coins Recently .. But have always been attracted to them .. (who dosnt like a beefy silver coin lol)

But I have alot of "flavors" that I tend to not be able to pass up .. since I saw these in the junk bucket for 27$ had to grab them knowing from what research I did before they were rather common and not having one yet I couldnt pass it up haha ..

Other then Morgans tho , me and my father been bitten by the Lincoln Cent bug again (been about 5 years since we both sat down and went through rolls of coins , so its nice to be spending the time with him and re-learning everything I forgot haha) ..

All in good fun for me , nothing to do with "VALUES" .. dont seem to have deep enough pockets for some coins id LOVE to have in my collection .. but , not gona stop me from collecting what I like ..

This one , just couldnt stay out of my hands since I dont have any 1891-o's , now I got two for under 60$ so was a good day today (plus I picked my dad and I up a Brick of 25$ worth of pennies to go through this week, hopefully we come acrossed some keepers for our second set of books were tring to get going.. )

Been learning 10x as much as I did the first go around now with this site for information .. been helped ALOT and it just keeps the "spark of interest" really high ..

Thanks for the Insight Buddy , I appreciate your time

Take care/Be Safe.
And Good luck on your Searching/collections

I would look into the 1A, 1A1, 1A2, 1A3, ALL have a strong clashed "E" I can not see the PUP'S of each in your picture, but with coin in hand, I would suggest looking into those #'s, Good Luck..........

It's the 1A1 stage of the die. The 3A series has a much weaker 'E' clash that is barely visible.

The 1A2 and 1A3 show increased deterioration of the die in the circled area. The 1A2 develops a dome to the right of the neck clash line. The 1A3 develops a sink to the left of the line.

Ahh Thanks SeatedNut !!!

Some reason on my comp the VW pages wouldnt show , and I wasnt sure if it was the "vam1a without being able to match it up to anything , but that description had me thinking it may have been it :-) ..

And sorry for the confusion.
The "vam3a" is the second 1891-o I picked out of the bucket that day .. Still have not had the time to check it out just yet to be 100%, but today I plan on taking the time to give that one a good looking over ...

Thanks again for setting the Vam1a straight for me , now knowing how the A2-A3 played out I'm gonna keep any eye out for them to maybe get a set of the 1891-o Vam1a's ..
