If you Google "Green River Whiskey" you'll see that John McCulloch started brewing his concoction in 1885, long after the Civil War. Indeed, this token was issued in the 20th century. It appears that someone stamped the 1863 date so as to make it appear to be Civil War.I see that you're a new seller, and to avoid problems with potential buyers, you'll likely want to share this info before the auction closes. No response. No comment added by the seller. Hmmm. Thoughts?
The item is now relisted and appropriately described. Given the 1863 stamping, this scenario of portraying it as a Civil War token will doubtless replay in the years ahead ...
