Does anyone know what value this coin would be worth and how I would clean the black stuff off?

Thanks in advance

This 10 Franc is a fairly common piece, worth melt. It is 0.0933 AGW.

You can try acetone, but I would suggest leaving it, 10 francs in this condition dont look good when they are clean.

It looks like someone has scrubbed the heck out of it, destroying any value above that of the metal.

I recently bought an 1856 A 5 franc the other day ( unfortunately when market was high) but nonethless just another ok gamble with the economy . This is a nice coin though! Considering the scrubbbing and wear. I'd just throw it in the safe and forget about it .
