Here is an early 8 reales from the Durango mint in Mexico, crudely made during the independence war.
The portrait of the king is an early one from this mint, different from the regular portrait used later.

It's an 1816, if I'm not mistaken. Great pick-up. Pretty much as nice as these come.

Yes, this one is from 1816 (it's in the title).
I missed a similar one in the previous Cayon auction (it was a bit nicer) - I'm glad I snatched this one !
