Hello :)

I found these on a flea market and the seller told me that he thinks they're from Pakistan/Afghanistan. I did some searching on Google before I came here and identified one of them as possibly "Kushan" while the other looks Greek to me.

But I could be totally wrong. I'm hoping that someone here might have an answer as to where they're from!

I don't recognise the style. How much do they weigh?

Very hard to say, I don't have anything to get the weight accurately, but I'd say about 30gr. (1.05oz), but I could be wrong.

This is not my area of collection, DVC is our expert on Greek coins hopefully he will be along soon. From the photos they look gold colored. Stranger things have happened but I suspect that if these came from a flea market sale they are reproductions. If they were real there value would be in the thousands of dollars

Welcome to the forum, patrickl. Hope we can help, but I'm afraid the news is likely to be bad.

The "Greek" one is in the name of Agathokles of Bactria, similar to coin number 2 on the Wildwinds page for this ruler. And yes, Bactria was in the same Afghanistan/Pakistan area.

However, I must ask, what colour metal are your coins? They both look golden-coloured in the pic, but gold coins of Agathokles are either extremely scarce or nonexistent.

The Kushan coin is in the name and pattern of the gold dinar/stater of king Vima Kadphises; zeno.ru example. However, while the Zeno example is slightly porous, yours is much more so, and your portrait has the typical "half-melted" look I've come to associate with cast replicas.
