This ebay item, listed as an 1867 half with no mention of the apparent S mintmark, looks phony to me. What say you?

It does have a strange look to it. Maybe it is a cast counterfeit? And it is strange he missed the S mintmark on it.

I asked him a question about the mintmark on why it isn't in the description. He might have just missed it.

Yeah that's a fake.

Seated Liberties don't wear like that, however counterfeits are cast or struck like that (strong rim, weak details).

Given Steve's confirmation of my suspicion, I wrote to the seller, suggesting that he weigh it and check the weight in the Red Book.
