I can't tell if it's real or not, but it has definitely been cleaned.

If it was cleaned it was prior to 1984 when I acquired the penny jar. It's been sitting in my closet for years,I never had the time to go through it. My father, who gave me the jar, did clean some of his coins with rubbing alcohol and Q tips. But this jar was not labeled "cleaned". He did store a lot of coins in oil, but again that would have been removed prior to 1984. Thanks for the comments.

Take the coin to a local shop or two and see what they say. Any good coin dealer can tell if it's real.

Sent the coin in yesterday to ANACS. I will repost after I get the coin and report back.

Definitely cleaned rather harshly but, I'm going to say it is genuine.
I don't see any major red flags diagnostically.

Best of luck with the grading, looking forward to what the verdict is.
