Beauty 45 quarter! Is that a specimen? I have a graded au example but that's gorgeous!

I don't (usually) buy service graded coins. Most of my purchases are graded by the dealer. I like to buy for what appeals to my eye and I love my LCS because I can pull up a stool and flip through the stock! The '45 quarter is labelled GEM UNC and bumped the EF I had. It was priced right for an MS. If it is specimen I got a smokin' deal.

Good to know! I usually stick to service graded examples above AU as I buy online mostly. If the 45 isn't a specimen it sure has a beautiful cameo to it. Well done & thanks for sharing.

Traded in 2 proof ASEs (1998 and 2004) for $150 in credit at the LCS. Among the coins I received in return were an 1897 5 cent, 1899 dime, 13 George V or VI dimes, 10 pre-67 Elizabeth dimes, one 1967 dime, 6 George V/VI quarters, 10 pre-67 Elizabeth quarters, and a 1943 half.

So far this year

2022 Silver Proof 5 Cents

Post-Your-Most-Recent-Canadian-Coin-Purchases!

2022 Specimen 5 Cents

Post-Your-Most-Recent-Canadian-Coin-Purchases!

Expecting to find at least two other issues
2022 Nickel Proof 5 Cents
2022 Uncirculated 5 Cents

Will there be special 100 year anniversary issues? I would expect so.
Will it or they be expensive. I bet they will.
Probably my last year collecting Canada 5 Cents.
It cost at least on average $50 per year in recent years to keep up with this. 100 years is enough and I'll call it
A 1922-2022 Century of Nickels Set.

@TNG, instead of stopping, why not just collect the Circulating ones. That way your cost is reduced to 5 cents per year!

Very excited about this piece..made the deal a little while ago but picked it up at torex. Now that I've got the 1951 HR covered, I only need a 1938, 1942 and 1952. The 1938 is essentially impossible with three in private hands(all locked away in big collections), but the 1942 and 1952(both rare in nice quality) can be found eventually..
