Just got this today. Don't normally collect too many NCLT coins, but this one is sterling silver, history theme, (I'm a history buff) and I got it for less than original issue price in Canadian dollars.

Nice JimmyD, I like the war history coins as well. It's good to recognize the sacrifices our armed forces make our behalf.

Nice pair of coins SilverDon. Looks like the 64 may be a Filled Die variety.

I haven't been on in a while , but its nice to see you're still adding to your SD collection Silverdon. Both really nice examples.

Quote: Looks like the 64 may be a Filled Die variety. Am not too familiar with that variety, and tried to find it but didn't (see dot and no dot types). Can you tell me more on that 1964 filled die variety or point to a reference. Thanks in advance JimmyD. Thanks Denny - Binder is getting heavy.

Hi SilverDon- They say a picture is worth a thousand words so instead of trying to explain it, I'll show this from Charltons Catalougue.

Unfortunately this time is was plastic and light rays, photo was taken through the binder plastic and the pliofilm. I have the normal variety. No filled die in this case. However, this forced me to take the loupe to the coin and I think there is minor doubling of the T and S and the second dot/period. Nice to learn something, thanks JimmyD. Old school pic -> loupe in front of Canon Power Shot lens

Nice...I like 04 and 05's too and buy them when I can find them. Tough coin to find in most grades. Almost all 1904 have a weak strike reverse. Looks it could make G-6.

Well it has a pretty clear date and a nice wreath, G6 is what it was advertised as. I'm happy with the purchase - still need to find an 05 and 32 to complete my 20th century

I'm just cataloging all my 50 cent pieces right now... so much fun!!
That's a nice pick up Luc! I'm missing so many of the earlier dates it's frustrating!
In my opinion though the earlier reverse design is my favourite... The coat of arms is nice.. but there's something to be said about that wreath and how the denomination is centered in the design...

Putting together a Canada Flag set ,this is the latest one I purchased. Would there be any interest in a complete set of these RCM flag coins ?

I think there would!!
At the last coin club meeting I attended there was a guy that did a presentation on exactly this topic of coins that featured the canadian flag or maple leaf...
