Thanks Ag...I'm actually very happy with this dollar and do admit it does look better than graded. The dollar does show a small amount of cabinet friction marks on the obverse that cannot be seen in hand or even with a 10Xloupe.I'm sure this is why ICCS knocked it down to MS60.
I have found ICCS to be very tough on 1948 dollars. Because of what they cost ICCS makes sure they get there grades right.

Very Nice coins everyone.

@eastvanrob: Superb toners, mind indulging me with the grades? (They look MS to me). That 1911 10C is especially nice

@wireman: Really nice 1948 dollar, looks better than 60 to me.

I haven't been into purchases a lot lately, been too busy with exams, but my exams are done now and I'm looking into acquiring a very nice piece for my vicky half collection. Will post it here when/if the sale is final.

Thank You Normick67. I plan on keeping this dollar. Someday I might try and upgrade to a MS63 or 64. Even if I did upgrade I probably would still keep this dollar as I don't mind having more than one of key date coins in my collection.

I just got this one in the mail from the recent CA sale. It's worn but absolutely problem free. I am really happy to finally own one

I have no idea, west-canuk. Presumably they all came from a single reverse die. PCGS shows a total of 37 business strike coins slabbed across all grades. I'm not sure how many ICCS has graded. If I were to guess, I'd say less than a few hundred remain?

According to Charlton, there were 38,433 total 47 leaf coins struck, but it doesn't isolate curved and straight dates.
The ICCS population report for 47 curved 7's is 162 in all grades.

@JimmyD...Could you please give me the ICCS pop. report for 1957 one waterline MS-64 silver dollar. The PCGS pop. report is 9 coins but I would like to know the ICCS also. Thanks.
