Formerly in a PCGS XF40 holder, now residing in my Gardmaster twenty-five cents album. I picked this up on ebay, which goes to show that there are still some nice collector coins to be had there occasionally. However, I did have to look through the entire listing of marginal to just plain awful twenty-five cents to find this one piece. Who knows when the next nice-looking one will come along?   |

Well no pics atm, but got a 1967 (Goose) dollar and a 1959 dollar for spot price at one of my LCS, they have a bunch of foreign coins there for spot silver price. They even had a 1965 mint set not sure how much it came out to be, as I only had the cash for the two dollars

I recently had a couple of interesting (at least to me) tales about some Canadian coins I acquired.
I went to the coin show in Windsor (Ontario) a few weeks ago. While there, I bought both the 2014 and 2015 Canadian nickels to get that folder up to date. I used to work in retail and got LOTS of Canadian coins from store change, however, now that I'm retired I no longer have that ability and need to 'buy' new commons. Anyway, the next day I went to McDonalds for lunch and got.......a 2015 Canadian nickel in change. I had paid US$0.34 for it the day before; now I have two!
Last week I visited my wife's uncle (I went with him to the Christmas tree farm to buy a tree for him). While at his house, I told him the story about me going to the resent coin show in Windsor, and how I had bought some recent coins for my sets. He told me to wait a minute and walked to his bedroom and brought back to the kitchen table a big plastic cup full of Canadian coins. He said that every time he does to the Windsor Casino (he goes monthly) he ends up with a pocket full of Canadian coins. I looked at them and found a gorgeous 2015 quarter I needed and traded him a US quarter for it. Also, he had a plain 2015 Flag quarter and a colored 2015 Poppy, both also in gorgeous condition. I had just bought them at the coin show (paid US$0.68 for the flag and US$2.05 for the poppy), so once again my timing was off.
I told him I'd go through his pile the next time I visit to trade him for any he has that are in better shape than ones I already have.

MS-64, just a guess. Hairlines may be on the plastic.
Beautiful coin, is that a big die chip in the date?

If those scratches aren't on the coin, then maybe 3 or 4. If they are on the coin then maybe 62. The reverse is a little weakly struck (or slight wear) looking at the vertical jewels in the crown. It's nearly impossible to grade a coin on a computer monitor, especially through plastic. It could be anywhere between 58 and 64.

The thing on the date is on the holder and the hairline/contact mark is 50 % on the older. This is my first 25 cents. Sorry for my English  |

Not a purchase, but I got the same 1958 silver dollar that SilverDon bought! I don't know too much about it though yet.
