Yeah, it is a shame the seller lied. Probably some old guy with bad eye sight that can't tell the difference between the two.
Still an awesome coin, especially at that price.

Ya he offered me a full refund for it and would pay for the return shipping, but I told him it wasn't a big deal and not to worry about it. I told him I would rather just have the full truth the first time ya know? Anyway, yes more than likely the coin will be cracked out and placed in an album. The only time that I really like to have a coin in a slab is if I have no where to put the coin or if it is sentimental to me.

I'd crack it out as well. I put all of my slabbed coins in albums, and the slab won't fit in the album! lol.

Definately a good deal, carbon spot or no. And I would NOT buy from him again. If he lied about something that simple...
As for your other thread, something I did not see mentioned there. If you have a coin with grease or grime a simple acetone bath will take care of things like that without doing any kind of harm at all.
As for the slab thing. "Right" is up to you. My long term intention is to have one slabbed key coin, and one for the Dansco. Likely the higher grade to stay in the slab. But thats me.

Ya I am just like, once I crack the $160 coin out of the slab, the price slips hahaha...

You did fine, $160 is right at CDN ask. I wouldn't care about the carbon spots, heck, it's a slabbed MS63 coin. I'd expect to see some spots or it would have made 64 or higher.

Casutherland- there are slab guys and there are album guys. I have no problem breaking out a coin. If I know I am going to keep the coin then I break it out. If you are not sure about keeping it forever, or have any doubts, leave it in the slab. Reselling will get higher if it is still slabbed.
But it's up to you, I like presenting coins in albums.

ya, thought the coin might be worth more. I am having a hard time deciding if I want to break the coin out or not :(

I suggest you leave it in the slab for a while then. It is a new purchase, just keep it as is for a while and see how you feel later.

Personally, I would leave it the slab. You can't keep everything forever, eventually you're going to die and someone in your family is probably going to own the coin. In an slab, it's going to be much easier for them to deal with and to understand it's value. Plus, if you ever decide to sell it, it will be much easier to unload in a slab.

I say keep it in the slab until you need it to put the finishing touches on an album.
