Last night I checked all my KGVI coins for the clash and found a 1942 Indian penny with a light clash.

It is almost identical to the one in the listing but perhaps with more lustre. My clash is a bit clearer. I can get photos which show the clash but cannot for the life of me show the colour of the coin accurately.I think I need new lights.

You can actually see the bottoms of the word AUSTRALIA backwards of course on top of the Kings head.

Very impressive guys! Indian minted coins from the WW2 era show lots of minting problems and errors. Clearly their QC wasn't up to scratch.

Thanks for the informative response markn .

Yes, the smooth silhouette of the King on the reverse of my coin is quite different to the sharp outline of Queen Elizabeth in your very nice and shiny 1963 sixpence.

So it seems I have a "ghost coin" in my collection

Interesting also that the English were experimenting with the removal of "ghosting" in the 1920's, but it is still evident in our coins into the 1940's and 50's.
