Hi folks:

Will some of you post links or names to/of Internet dealers who sell actual US Mint rolled rolls of coins. That is they come in the original US Mint paper wrap.

Thanks,
- Jim

ebay would be your best bet. Most dealers break apart the P&D roll sets to sell individual coins. The roll sets themselves have been money-losers for the most part with an initial high premium charged for them.

I am thinking that the rolls have been money losers. Hopefully the dealers might sell them less than the Mint since they get them for less then we can.

I want original mint wrapped rolls to know that the roll has not been cherry-picked.

Sometimes on various coin forums you can find individuals selling mint wrapped quarters, and sometimes there is a premium for these rolls. About two months ago I did happen to pick up 15 rolls of mint wrapped Statehood Quarters from my local bank for face value. This was a real cherry find.

I've also purchased similiar wrapped coins on the coin forums that I mentioned. I pick them up just for the odditiy factor and add to my collection. You have to be really on the lookout for them but they do come on the market from time to time.

The only mint wrapped rolls that I know about were the Westward Expansion nickels, the 2009 and 2010 pennies, and the Statehood Quarters.

On a continuing basis there is the mint sales of the America the Beautiful Quarters, Kennedy halves plus the presidential and Native American dollar coins. Of course these last coins do carry a mint premium on them. So current choices are somewhat limited.

Sometimes you may be lucky enough to obtain new issues of coins directly from a company like Brinks, Dunbar, or Loomis. However the later in the year the odds of this happening in box quantities is limited.

Owassokie and others:

I am looking for 1999 quarters, Lincoln's life pennies and Westward nickles. But mostly the quarters. My hope is to get them before they have been scowered for the high grade coins.

Littleton told me they get theirs in Mint bags then put them into their plastic coin roll tubes WITHOUT cherry-picking them.
