I have a little stash of circulated Susan B. Anthony dollars, about 60 of them. Most are 1979, mostly P, but a few D, and at least one with the blobby S. There are also half a dozen or so from 1980 or 1999 (none from 1981). I think they're probably pretty much worthless, as collectibles, and I don't need to hang on to them. Is there a market for them, or should I just take them to the bank? Jan

Go to the bank and trade them in for the new Washington dollars.

I would spend them at the coin shop to buy something I would really want. Thats just what I would do.

When Sussie B. first came out of the mint, some of the girls working in a bar I used to party in would wait untill a customer got smashed and then give them to their customers as change. The somewhat hammered customers would tip the waitresses dollars thinking they were quarters. No Kidding. Perhaps them ladies would still find them useful. Poor ol Sussie B. ...Gusp

My wife and I were counting a couple month's worth of change last night and came across about half a dozen SBA's. All were circulated and had marks on them. Off to the bank they go tomorrow.

Spend 'em! It's just money. You'd never say "I have a small stack of dollar bills, what should I do with them?" You'd just spend them and give it not a second thought. As you should with your SBAs.

Spend them, if for no other reason than to see the look on the face of the kid you hand them to.........priceless!!

Save a couple for that teen behind a register. It's funny watching them struggle trying to figure out if its a real coin.

The Bank? Why? Would you take a stack of quarters to the bank? Put a few in your pocket each day and spend them. There great for small purchases like newspapers ,coffee, pop & tips. I use them, and sackies, every day.
Pay the paperboy with them.

Use some of them next time you pull up to the pump for $20 worth of regular.
I remember a few weeks ago I gave a $2 bill to the kid in Duncan Donuts, he had to ask his manager if he was allowed to accept it. Priceless.

Unless copper/ nickel goes up a great deal there is virtually no chance these will have a premium within twenty years.
You might check them for the near date first, but even this doesn't have a large premium in circ. It accounts for around 3% of mintage probably.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

I can hear someone making that exact statement in 1932 while they were trying to figure out what to do with their extra silver coins..... Of course 1932 is an arbitrary date, but you get my point I hope. I'm certainly not saying hang onto them, but do what YOU want to do with them. Storing 500 of these is no different that saving 50,000 wheaties. You just never know....Just my opinion of course.

Wheaties already have a premium above face value, SBA's do not.

I carry around a couple of rolls of Sacs Susie's and Kennedy's I have way to much fun using them at fast food joints and giving them out as tips at restaurants. The Look on the little snots faces is priceless as they try to decide if its real money and where to put them in the register... Most of the wait staff I give them too seem more than happy to get tips from the 'Half dollar man'.
