Can anyone help me with the grading of my 119 year old Penny. I see VG8 but I am a rookie

VG8 is reasonable, although it would depend on how much of "liberty" is visible. Its hard to tell from the pics.

According to Snow, the minimum for a VG grade is at least 3 letters in 'LIBERTY' are visible. Typically these letters are L,R,T. but any combination will suffice. It does not mean they have to legible.
