I have an error note that I can not figure the value out. I went to a money/coin store and the guy said he had no clue and it looked to good to be true. I personally got it from a bank. Can anyone help me out?

Easily faked but assuming it's real, it's a nice note.
Offset Printing or Offset Transfer
"Offset printed notes occur when an inked plate makes contact with the bed, often the cause of no sheet being fed to the press to accept the intended ink. As a result, when the next sheet passes through the press, the area impressed onto the impression cylinder is then pressed onto the opposite side of the note."
If real, probably between $60 - $120 ish

So it's the paper money equivalent of a die clash? I assume it's only half-there because the previous sheet had gone through all cattywompus?

That is one strange error note. If it is real, that is an awesome find! It would be interesting to hear how a note like that can be made at the BEP? It is strange how just part of it was over printed on the reverse. Hopefully lettow or someone else can respond with an explanation?

Did you try to search on the web for error currency dealers and email them the photos? It would be interesting to hear if it is valid or not and the value. I just did a Google search on error notes and found this place. They do a lot of handling of various error notes, so it might be worth it to ask if they have ever seen a note like this and if not, is it a valid error? http://www.usarare.com/index22.htm

This is a wet ink transfer error... This note looks like the previous sheet (32 subject sheet) had a fold in the paper that resulted in half the ink remaining on the roller where the fold was, then transferred from the roller to the next sheet (this sheet), and since the reverse side is printed first and the front side second, this would explain why the front of the note was printed on the back (side against the roller)... Nice error and somewhat rarer than a full wet ink transfer as only a partial area of the sheet accepted the transfer... If your unsure, have it certified and recover the certification fees when you sell the note as a genuine error... There are alot of fakes out there but this looks like the real thing...

Send it in for authentication and see what happens. Could be worth 70 if real.
